One Pixel Picture Shows
My kaleidoscopic One Pixel Picture Shows are philosophical meditations on machine visions’s tendency towards informationally adjacent seeing, accelerating pace of transmission, and reduction of images to informational packets that can be computed, parsed, copied, and sent on their way.
Each One Pixel Picture Show presents an exploded view of an image produced by one of my Single Pixel Cameras during a one second exposure. It encompasses not only the precise yet fragile output of the camera, but also makes visible the signal chain's recording, transmission, and computational systems through which it becomes manifest. The processing applied to make the image data visible is both lens and mirror, elevating the processing itself and the carrier waves on which the image rides to co-equal status with the visual data.
